Since I’d used it before, I used the Oliver + S bucket hat pattern again. I enlarged it for my 22” head. I thought I would share my enlarged version with you in case any of you happen to have a 22” head and would like to make a hat for yourself.

Doesn't anyone have a 21 inch head??!! I can seldom find patterns or hats small enough. Besides I don't have a printer to print this anyway, but couldn't resist commenting.

I have made 3 of these children bucket hats in the last 2 weeks. They are so cute. Has anyone here used this adult size pattern? Did it turn out correctly? I am planning to use this pattern very soon, so I would love to make sure it works before I try it.

Thanks so much! My son is now 8 and lives in his Oliver + S bucket hats. He has been wearing them since he was 3 and has 8 of them. He has autism and the hats are calming for him. He had a big head back then and so they where made with a 1/4" seam allowance to give him enough room. Well, they are just too small now. He and I ended up at the fabric store today and he picked out some new fabrics. I'm so glad I found you post! I really didn't want to try to enlarge the original pattern. I think I might make myself one as well!
Be careful when printing out! My hat ended up being much too big, 25", because my printer enlarged the image. Any chance you could modify the pattern to include a scale?

DeleteI just printed at 110% zoom for a 24 inch head. Let's hope it works
DeleteSuggest making the seams smaller; instead of using 1/2" seams throughout, use 1/4". Please let us know how this works!
