My husband and I were in Toronto last week. Without our kids. Which was fun, but I missed those little guys! I was there for 3 days, but he was there all week (for work). We rode bikes. We ate great food. And most importantly, I went to some fabric stores in the fashion district.

Or do what I did. Walk down Queen Street West and into the fashion district. That’s where many fabric stores are located. Some are better organized than others. All are well-stocked. Oh, and don't miss King Textiles, located just off of Queen Street West. It was really well organized and the shopkeeper was friendly to me. However, I found all of the stores' prices to be higher than the US. So despite all the choices, I bought nothing! It was still fun to shop.
We went to Niagara Falls, too.
Girl Friday. I loved this store and this dress. But it was originally $140, marked down to $90. Obviously, I did not buy it! But it would be an easy dress to make if I could find a pattern.
My husband, who likes microbreweries, wanted to try Mill Street Brewery. Located in the Distillery District, it was another great place to eat.
Greg’s Ice Cream was a great place. We went there twice. My favorite flavor was Toffee Coffee ice cream.
It was fun to visit such a big city, but I’m a small-town girl at heart. I like when people are friendly and I enjoy peace and quiet. If you’ve followed my blog for awhile, you know I don’t like to spend a lot of money. And everything in Canada was more expensive. But I truly enjoyed being able to walk and bike around the city and look at the eclectic shopping Toronto offers!
Yes, unfortunately everything is more expensive in Canada. We pay a lot in taxes but when you're used to it you tend not to notice. Hamilton also had a nice fabric district on Ottawa st. I'm glad you had a great time, I miss Ontario so much!
