Since I’d used it before, I used the Oliver + S bucket hat pattern again. I enlarged it for my 22” head. I thought I would share my enlarged version with you in case any of you happen to have a 22” head and would like to make a hat for yourself.

ReplyDeleteack! I wish that I'd seen this before I ruined some fabric over the weekend! Cute hat!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can use the fabric for something else!

ReplyDeleteThanks !! I just measured my son's head after printing the Oliver and S pattern , only to discover his head is 22 inches!!! Thanks for enlarging it
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your enlargement. I've made a ton of the kid ones and finally wanted one for myself! My first attempt came out too small. I was happy to find your version!
ReplyDeleteShould I purchase the same amount of fabric or will I need a bit more for the adult size?
ReplyDeletehave you any instructions on how to sew it all together, i have never made 1 b4, i have downloaded the patter and cut out my fabric waiting to be stitched
ReplyDeleteI don't know if u found the instructions for the pattern or not yet, but it is in the article up further titled Oliver + S bucket hat pattern.
DeleteDoesn't anyone have a 21 inch head??!! I can seldom find patterns or hats small enough. Besides I don't have a printer to print this anyway, but couldn't resist commenting.
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem :-|
DeleteI am so glad I finally found this. Thank you for sharing this! I can hardly wait to make one.
ReplyDeleteThis is great- thanks for sharing! I just made the original with smaller seams for my son's 21.5" head- so happy to find a larger one I can use for him next time- and myself!

DeleteActually this is from Becky-this guys mother. I have no idea why it is coming from him
ReplyDeleteThank you for the enlarged hat. Made one for my grandson, now his dad wants the same hat!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! My son also needs this size hat! Is it with or without seem allowances?
ReplyDeleteit has seam allowances included!
DeleteI have made 3 of these children bucket hats in the last 2 weeks. They are so cute. Has anyone here used this adult size pattern? Did it turn out correctly? I am planning to use this pattern very soon, so I would love to make sure it works before I try it.
ReplyDeleteCan you share how much you enlarged the pattern? I'd like to try to enlarge it a bit more for a 23-24 inch head.
ReplyDeleteDid you figure out how to do this yet? Also looking for a pattern for a 24 inch head
DeleteI just printed at 110% zoom for a 24 inch head. Let's hope it works
DeleteSuggest making the seams smaller; instead of using 1/2" seams throughout, use 1/4". Please let us know how this works!
DeleteSurprising background experienced in everything sentence of this article. I made a decent attempt to get hint about how I could demonstrate substance of this blog. I must say, not much powerful but rather I surrendered every one of my weapons soon after understanding it.

Thanks so much! My son is now 8 and lives in his Oliver + S bucket hats. He has been wearing them since he was 3 and has 8 of them. He has autism and the hats are calming for him. He had a big head back then and so they where made with a 1/4" seam allowance to give him enough room. Well, they are just too small now. He and I ended up at the fabric store today and he picked out some new fabrics. I'm so glad I found you post! I really didn't want to try to enlarge the original pattern. I think I might make myself one as well!
ReplyDeleteBe careful when printing out! My hat ended up being much too big, 25", because my printer enlarged the image. Any chance you could modify the pattern to include a scale?
ReplyDeletei cant find the instructions
ReplyDeletethe instructions link is here https://oliverands.com/community/blog/2016/08/reversible-bucket-hat-tutorial.html
ReplyDeleteHi! Is your pattern include seam? Or should I add seam?
ReplyDeleteThanks
