Bike Bag with Freezer Paper Stenciling

bag with painted negative stencil bike
More freezer paper stenciling. More bikes. However, this technique is slightly different than other freezer paper stenciling I have done. This uses the cutout piece of the stencil. It’s painting around the stencil instead of just inside of it.
Here is the bag I used. I didn’t make it. Sometimes I don’t have the time or energy for making a bag to embellish. But I want to decorate one anyway. This bag was sent to me from Fashion Art Projects. You can check their website for plenty of options to buy your own bag for painting.
plain bag
Here are the easy steps I used to paint the bag with acrylic paint mixed with fabric paint medium.negative stenciling with freezer paper five step instructions
1) Ironed on the stencil and outline. 2) Cut some rounded corners for the inside of the stencil. I used a ribbon spool to shape the corners. 3) Ironed on the corners. 4) Painted with the paint. 5) After the paint dried, I removed the stencils.
Now I can load up the bag to take to the pool. It is pretty good-sized and has a lining, too.
