Books for Boys

I have given some lists of our favorite books in the past. My boys were younger. See here for a few posts.

But if you have a son who is learning to read and ready to move past the easy Dr. Seuss-like books, I highly recommend a series of books about Billy and Blaze by C.W. Anderson. These are the first books my 6.5 year old son has been excited to read on his own.

Five Children's Books we Love: Part IV

Hi Friends! If you've been reading my blog for long, you know I love to read to my boys. We love going to the library and selecting new books to read. These have been some of our favorites lately! (If you'd like to see our recommendations from part I, part II or part III, check them out.)

My three-year old loves diggers and big machines. I have probably read this book to him 10 times already. And it is about toy diggers making a cake. Yes, a cake.

Five Children's Books We Love: Part 3

Are you looking for some great lesser-known books to add to your home library as or ideas for Christmas gifts? I've compiled another list of some current favorite books we've tested from our local library. (See Children's Books We Love Part 1 or part 2, if you missed those posts.)  Click on each image to get more info from Amazon.com.

This is a cute book--on the shorter side, but the pictures and text appeal to me!

Five More Children's Books We Love

I love to read books to my kids. I posted a few titles that might have been new to you awhile back (Five Children's Books We Love). Here are a few more suggestions you may not have read before! (You can click on each for a link to Amazon.)

I just happened to pick up this one at the library this weekend and it is hysterical! The pictures are great and made us laugh:

Sewing Books I'd Like to Own

I don't own any sewing books. But I've been working hard this week on sewing a few things for my oldest son and I'm realizing it might be time to break down and buy some patterns. Books seem like a great way to get patterns. Here are a few I think might be a worthwhile investment.

I think this might be a 'must-have' for me. It was recommended in a comment I received and I would use it. A lot:

Five Children's Books We Love

I love to read to my boys. We love most of the classics, but here are a few that are maybe less known in case you're tired of The Very Hungry Caterpillar or Goodnight Moon.
For reference, my oldest is nearly three and my youngest is about 10 months.

We just got this one for Easter and it is hysterical.
