I’ve made a few baby headbands lately. One was sold prior to photographing, but here are two others that I really love.
The leopard print band really makes me happy on this one!
I also love the polka dot band on this next one.
Both are available for $7 + $3 shipping. E-mail me at monkeyseemail@gmail.com if you are interested.
I’ve been working on some experimental refashions lately. My first one I can’t even show pictures of since it was so horrible. I’ve been really into thrifting lately. (See this post for one of my favorite $1 shirts.) I found this great plaid shirt while I was at a thrift store with my boys. It was pleated all down the front and I just loved the fabric, so I purchased it. Got home, it was GINORMOUS. Must have been a maternity shirt despite not being labeled as such. I removed many pleats, removed the stitching from most of the seams on one side and tried to cut off part of the side to fit me.
Well, the shirt is now stuffed in the basement cache of items to re-repurpose. It is still terribly large and I’m not sure where to remove more fabric. Maybe the shirt will turn into a scarf (since I LOVE the fabric).
I got to go back to the thrift store yesterday and purchased some new sweaters for myself. Several will be worn just the way they are…I don’t usually LOVE sweaters, but I found some that I do LOVE. They’re all gray, that’s the only problem. One sweater will be receiving a refashion treatment; can’t wait to see how that turns out and show you all!
Since I've been thrifting clothing instead of purchasing it for full price, I've balked at the idea of spending $26 on a skirt. And I could make a pencil skirt myself. But aren't these skirts so cute? (Not an affiliate link.) Red and black houndstooth is my favorite! They have leggings, too. Wild print leggings. They are super cute. But I'm not sure what I would wear with them.
In other news, I’ve been using dry shampoo on my hair. I LOVE not washing my hair every day. However, I’ve tried two different brands and found it makes my hair really gummy and dries out the ends. Any types that YOU really like? I’m willing to try another brand. Or do you make it yourself? Let me know.
