I made this in case the baby is a girl. I love bow hats. 

Tons of Baby Hats.

I go through phases. Sometimes I sew. Sometimes I crochet. Sometimes I do both. Or neither. 

I'm going through a crocheting phase. I made a ton of hats for our church to donate to the newborns at the hospital. 31 total. So far. 

I did sew a few of them. Someone had given me a lot of yarn. And I just started crocheting.

New Baby Hats {to Donate}

I love making hats for our church to donate to a hospital nearby. Here and here are links to other hats I have made. 

This time, the hats were both crocheted and sewn. 

Baby Hats: Crocheted and Sewn

I love making baby hats. We had a short road trip last weekend, so I crocheted about five hats in the car. 

Then I added some little fabric scraps with serged edges to the hats to finish them off. 

I sewed four knit hats, too. Two have flowers and two are just plain (recycled t-shirts).

I've completed several projects for my oldest son and a few for myself--just need to get some presentable photos. 

Bibs and Baby Hats

Just a quick few projects I've been working on the past weeks...I have a few items of clothing that I've made but failed to photograph and share. (It is a little harder lately to get photos of items I've made for myself.) I'm sure I'll get around to sharing them...eventually. I've been altering clothing, too.

But now I present...bibs. Little toddler guys need bibs that cover a large surface area and can't be easily removed. The bibs we have are embarrassingly stained. So our littlest guy needed a few new ones. So I grabbed some scraps and made him a few new bibs (same pattern from here and here.)



Easter is coming...I have a few bunny bibs for sale in my Etsy shop. They are machine-appliqued with bunnies. So cute. Hop on over to check them out.

Fox Hat and Blankets.

First up: a fox hat I made! It matches a blanket I made to donate to a local hospital.
This hat was made using my pattern which is available in my etsy shop.

Crocheted Hats

I've gotten some crazy amounts of time for sewing the past few days. (At least, crazy amounts for me, anyway!) My husband has been working on a big project for our basement, so that has left several evenings free as he's been at my dad's wood shop.

However, I have very little to show for my sewing! I'm working on developing a pattern for myself and have been "Trial-and-Error" sewing. Meaning I sew up a garment, it doesn't fit, I take it apart, adjust, sew it again, rip it apart...you get the idea! Seems crazy.

The stars aligned and my little toddler slept all afternoon on Saturday, my oldest was at a friend's house, and the middle guy was with my husband working in the basement. So that meant lots of Trial-and-Error time for mommy! The project is coming along. I'm also working on putting pockets in garments.

Purple Owl Hat

Newly Crocheted Hats!

I’ve been working on a few custom hats this week.

First, another pilot hat.

Shades of Blue

Our church has collected hats to be given to new babies at the local hospital in the past. We’re starting to do that again, so while we were on vacation for a week (24 total hours of driving with three small kids all age 5 and younger—really, it wasn’t as bad as it sounds…)
I crocheted a dozen hats for the donation basket.

Wide Stripe Owl Tab Hat

This little guy. He’s so much fun. And doing so well with his preK/Kindergarten school work.

I made him an aviator hat (like I'd made for his younger brothers) and I’d also made this wide stripe hat with a little owl-theme tab (for sale!). But I actually like this one better on my oldest guy. Maybe it is the bold colors, the style, not sure. Just seems more age-appropriate for a five year old.

Crocheted Aviator Hats & Custom Orders.

I am so excited about the winter aviator hats I made for my boys! 

It’s not hot and sunny today, so it seemed like a good day to get some photos.

I made the littlest guy’s hat a little large so it will fit all winter. (He is turning one year old in a few weeks. That was fast!)

Pink Owl.

I made this pink owl hat with a yellow flower and a covered button middle. It is size 3-6 months.

Birthday Owl

We went to a cousin’s first birthday last week.

I made another owl hat for him as a gift.
